How to find us

After a fantastic tour of Ghana with Volta Eco Tours (visit their website) and a desire to do something more worthwhile, Tema Theatre Company Ltd was formed in 2004 with the ambition of providing free drama classes to children.  The first school to host the project was in Tema hence the company received its name: Tema Theatre Company.

Following a successful two years of providing the classes, Tema Theatre Company then expanded into the provision of theatrical productions.  The first production - Dick Turpin - was performed at the Efua T Sutherland Theatre at the University of Ghana, Legon, in the summer of 2006.  Productions in Ghana are continuing.

In 2007, Tema Theatre Company expanded to Belgium to create The English Theatre of Bruges.  The glorious theatre in the heart of Bruges stages imported English-language productions from the UK and around the world.  See WHAT'S ON.

Tema Theatre Company is run by siblings Sarah, Clare and Antony.  Although this photo was taken in the 1970s, we still have the same delightful taste in fashion.  Do feel free to get in touch: Contact Us.

Clare Allen has directed over 50 productions across four continents.  With an MA in Performance from Goldsmiths College, London, and over 15 years' experience of directing, teaching and performing, eight of which were in Hollywood, Clare is still discovering the joys of the Meisner Technique and the methodologies of Boal, Grotowsky, Strasberg, Adler, Barber, Meyerhold, and limitless combinations.
